This is a place holder for the build for our snowy mountain pass themed club table. Major construction will begin this weekend and the painting and finishing will be covered here as well.

Step 1 is to create the frame for the table. We're using 2x4's for strength and because we need to have them laying on their sides to keep the storage size down.
This is a very simple table with only 2 hills in opposing corners, which creates the mountain pass in between. The various elevations were cut with a jigsaw out of both 1/4" plywood and 1/8" hardboard. They were then glue and screwed in place.

Just a quick update on this table (pictures to come). Colin took the upper most portions of the table off and used them as a base for a 4" high piece of foam. He has cut them away to look like cliffs as we had originally discussed when building the tables. Colin also managed to contour a single piece of 1/2" foam the size of the lighter piece of wood in the upper right corner of the photo above. Just to give a bit more height and texture to the cliff face. So far they are looking great!

Because of all the scenarios in the 8th Edition of the rules, I changed the design of this table to be more generic. I removed the risers in the corners and have painted it all as a simple grass field. This should allow the most flexibility and will also allow it to match up nicely with the grass lands table for a large 8x6 playing surface.
