We want to shake things up a bit so we're trying to figure out what to do for season 3. Cast your vote or post your suggestion if you have another idea!

for the fixed teams, I would like to see a pool of those that are able to ally. Then randomly assign a partner.

This is a pretty one-sided poll so far!

Scenarios are always fun but you need clear cut rules. Also i am partial to the doubles games so that i have a chance to win a game.

ok Brad and I discussed the season three pairings and figured we would give it a shot and ignore racial differences....... So we randomly rolled the pairings... They cam up as follows
Brad - Mike ---> Tomb Kings / Warriors of Chaos Kevin - Craig --> Brettonians / Dark Elves Colin - Dave --> Orc & Goblins / Dwarfs Chris - Jayme --> High Elves / Ogre Kingdoms
This is assuming Craig and Jayme are in for season 3. We will confirm, we are also working out a list if they do not participate.

ok so .. as it stands for season three the following armies have been submitted.
Ogre Kingdoms
Daemons
High Elves
Dwarfs
Tomb Kings
Warriors of Chaos
Dark Elves
Orcs & Goblins
Brad and I setup and rolled the following pairings. The only exception to this is that Brad has offered to play Tomb Kings / Dwarfs and be the general of both armies to keep us at an even number of teams. Thank you Brad... Now to the pairings..
High Elves - Daemons
Warriors of Chaos - Orc & Goblin
Ogre Kingdoms - Dark Elves
Tomb Kings - Dwarfs
If anyone has any issues with the list above, please let us know and we will see what can be done to fix the issue.
We are also thinking the following rules.... These are rules are a sub set of the rules for 2009 doubles tournament at adepticon.org.
- 1250 points per general for a total side value of 2500.
- Special Characters/Named Characters are NOT allowed.
- No more than one (1) Regiment of Renown is allowed in a Non-Dogs of War army.
- Rhinox Riders are only allowed in Ogre Kingdoms and Dogs of War armies.
- Army composition is as follows
- 1-2 Heroes
- 2+ Core
- 0-2 Special
- 0-1 Rare
- Each team is allowed to upgrade one Hero-level Character to a Lord-level Character per 2500 point army.
- Each army is allowed one model to be upgraded to the army battle standard bearer. However, no army is required to take one. Bretonnians do not receive their extra paladin for this purpose.
- High Elves may change one Core Slot into either a Rare or Special.
- Characters that take multiple character slots still must use the required multiple slots.
- For example, Vampire Lords still take a Lord and Hero slot. If a character uses more slots than are available in the modified organization chart, they cannot be taken. You are not allowed to use slots from your teammate's organization chart.
- No duplicates of magic items or Runic items are allowed except for dispel scrolls (Runes) and power stones.
- Magic Generation: Each 1250 point side generates its own power and dispel dice to be used by its own mages. If a side has no mages, it can only use the Common Pool.
- The Common Pool dice (2) must be divided at the beginning of the magic phase, and cannot be switched mid-phase.
- Magic Effects: Beneficial spells may be cast on your friendly contingents.
- Special Racial effects or Race Spell Effects (Cauldron of Blood, Screaming Bell, etc&hellip
affect both friendly and enemy models that are applicable. The list of 'Beneficial Spells' is available in the FAQ.
- Army Specific Rules: "Armies" that generate special effects only generate half of those effects, rounding up for each 1000 point portion of the alliance.
- Example:
- A team of Dwarves and Empire would only generate 3 basic dispel dice for the team, rather than 4 as a "standard" dwarf army would.
- A Dwarf-Dwarf team would generate 4 Units or characters that create their own "ability" are not affected by this.
- Each army must have its own general and will gain regular bonuses and detriments from its own general and battle standard bearer, and not the teammate's general or battle standard bearer.
- Examples:
- A unit of Skaven slaves could not use a Chaos Lord's leadership plus the unit's rank bonus for LD tests.
- An Undead army will only start to crumble with the removal of that army's specific general.
- Characters in each army cannot join units of the teammate's army.
- Fleeing/Destroyed Allied units may panic friendly units.
- The rulings of the current GW 7th Edition Fantasy FAQ will be used.
- Other Tournament-Specific Rulings are available in the Adepticon Fantasy FAQ.
- We are not using a composition system for this season
- You may change the army list you use against each opposing team, for every game.
TERRAIN
- Each team will place terrain on one side, do a roll off to decide which side you will place your terrain on.
- Each team will decide on the number of pieces of terrain they will place, up to a maximum of 3. No more than two of these pieces can be hills.
- Take turns placing a piece of terrain in the following manner
- Place the piece of terrain anywhere within the deployment zone for the side you are deploying terrain on.
- Roll a scatter die + 3D6 to determine the scatter and final placement of the terrain. if the terrain piece hits a board edge it will rebound at the appropriate angle and continue moving.
- Once terrain placement has been completed, do another roll off to see who picks sides.
- Do another roll off to determine who will deploy first.
- Once deployment is complete do the standard roll off to determine who starts the game as per the main rules.
